Your Kitchen Coach

What if “I’m not good in the kitchen?”

This week we’re addressing a common negative thought that many women have about the kitchen – and turn it on its head!

Do you ever say to yourself: “I’m not good in the kitchen.”

Think about this – where in your life do you feel “good?” What is something in your life that you do well now, but didn’t when you first started? How did you get to the point that you are now good at it?

Meal Planning

Did you read about it, practice, watch others? Did you give it a little time and attention?

Did you expect to be good at it the first time you tried it? Do you expect others in your life (for example, your kids) to be good at things the first time they try?

We give others grace, understanding, and patience, but we don’t often give these things to ourselves.

The kitchen is the same. Women rarely give themselves grace in this area. So often women expect way too much of themselves in the kitchen before they have practiced or learned. Many of us, myself included, didn’t grow up learning how to cook. I’m self-taught and I help women build their kitchen intuition and become “good in the kitchen” just like I have done for myself.

Kitchen Hacks

Cooking, kitchen organization, meal planning and prep, and even grocery shopping are not things we automatically know how to do well. It takes time, patience, learning, practicing, trial and error. I help to cut through some of that time and trial and error by providing customized meal plans and kitchen coaching, so if this sounds like you, check out my services.

However, if you are like me and want to learn it yourself and soldier through the learning process, it is so worth it!

You will get better. Kitchen organization becomes clear. Meal planning and prep become easier.

Remember this:

“You don’t have to be a chef or even a particularly good cook to experience proper kitchen alchemy: the moment when ingredients combine to form something more delectable than the sum of their parts. Fancy ingredients or recipes not required; simple, made-up things are usually even better.” – Erin Morgenstern
